Unlike standard self-centering chucks, a face plate utilizes modular T-slots, custom counterweights, and custom radial clamps to secure large, irregularly shaped structural parts safely.

As manufacturing tolerances shrink below the 5-micron margin, standard face plate designs are being phased out in favor of finite-element analyzed (FEA) workholding tools. Advanced face plates minimize structural deflection caused by high clamping and centrifugal forces, safeguarding dynamic accuracy on high-speed CNC turning spindles.

Metallurgical Rigidity & Lifespan

The select material composition of a custom face plate dictates its vibration-damping performance. Shandong Ricon Tools implements high-grade grey cast iron (such as HT300/GG30) and alloy steel (C45 or 42CrMo4) to withstand high mechanical stresses during turning.
